Microsoft is preparing to simplify how players use their earned rewards, with a new update set to enable direct point redemption on Xbox consoles. The change will allow users to spend Microsoft Rewards points directly through the console store, removing the need to redeem them عبر web or mobile browsers.
The feature, revealed on the official Xbox website, marks a shift in how rewards are used within the ecosystem. Previously, players had to leave their consoles and redeem points externally before making purchases.
With the upcoming update, players will be able to apply their points at checkout when purchasing items from the Xbox Store. The process is designed to mirror standard transactions, offering a more streamlined experience for users already browsing on their consoles.
According to Microsoft, users will simply select a product and choose to use their accumulated points during checkout. The change is expected to make it easier to redeem rewards for games and other digital content.
However, the system comes with some limitations. Points can only be applied to single-item purchases and cannot be used directly for subscription services. Despite this, users can still redeem points separately for rewards such as a month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
Microsoft has not announced a specific release date for the feature, stating only that it is “coming soon.” Once available, it will apply across supported consoles, including the Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One.
Incentives for Game Pass Users
The update also ties into broader benefits for subscribers of Xbox Game Pass. Players with higher-tier memberships can earn rewards points at an accelerated rate. Game Pass Ultimate users, for example, may earn up to four times the standard number of points, while other premium tiers also receive bonus multipliers.
Points can be earned through everyday activities such as launching the Xbox mobile app, playing Game Pass titles, or unlocking in-game achievements. Consistent daily activity can further increase the total earned.
