Anime distributor VIZ Media has announced that the first three episodes of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity will receive a limited theatrical release in the United States. The special screenings are scheduled to run from June 25 to June 29, with both English subtitled and dubbed versions available.

The theatrical event will be distributed by Fathom Entertainment and will feature additional content beyond the episodes. Audiences can expect behind-the-scenes footage along with a recorded discussion involving manga creator Tite Kubo, chief director Tomohisa Taguchi, and series director Hikaru Murata.

The theatrical debut comes ahead of the anime’s official television premiere in July. The early screenings follow a growing trend of anime projects receiving advance cinema releases, similar to recent events for titles like Dandadan and Solo Leveling.

Final Arc Reaches Its Climax

The final instalment, titled The Calamity, continues the high-stakes conflict between the Soul Reapers and the Quincy forces. The story escalates as the Royal Guard, known as Squad Zero, confronts Yhwach in a battle that determines the fate of multiple realms.

As the narrative unfolds, the balance of the Three Worlds begins to collapse following a critical turning point involving protagonist Ichigo Kurosaki and the Soul King. With reality itself destabilising, both the Thirteen Court Guard Squads and remaining Quincy forces move toward a final confrontation at the Royal Palace, now under enemy control.

The upcoming release marks the conclusion of one of anime’s most anticipated arcs, bringing the long-running Bleach saga closer to its end.
