The world of Jujutsu Kaisen is expanding once again. Today, Weekly Shonen Jump issue #41 unveiled a brand-new spin-off manga titled Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, written by original series creator Gege Akutami with artwork by Yuji Iwasaki (Cipher Academy). The series is available in English starting today through the Shonen Jump and MANGA Plus apps.

In a statement about the new project, Akutami described Modulo as “a short-term, compact serialization” expected to run for around six months and compile into approximately three volumes—assuming, as the author jokingly noted, it doesn’t get canceled early.

New Novel Also in the Works

Alongside the spin-off manga, Jujutsu Kaisen’s official channels revealed that a new spin-off novel is in production. The novel will be penned by horror author Yumeaki Hirayama, known for his unsettling and suspenseful storytelling. More details on the release are expected in the coming months.

Where the Franchise Stands Now

  • The original Jujutsu Kaisen manga by Gege Akutami ran from March 2018 to September 2024, concluding after 30 volumes.
  • The anime adaptation began with Season 1 (October 2020 – March 2021), directed by Sunghoo Park at MAPPA, who also helmed the 2021 prequel film Jujutsu Kaisen 0.
  • Season 2 aired from July to December 2023, with Shota Goshozono taking over as director.
  • The next installment, Jujutsu Kaisen: The Culling Game, is set to premiere in January 2026. Goshozono will return to direct at MAPPA, alongside writer Hiroshi Seko, character designer Hiromi Niwa, and composer Yoshimasa Terui. Crunchyroll will stream the new season worldwide.

Currently, both seasons of the anime and the film are streaming on Crunchyroll, which describes the story as follows:

Yuji Itadori, a boy with extraordinary physical strength, lives an ordinary high school life—until a chance encounter with a cursed object throws him into the dangerous world of jujutsu sorcery. To save his classmates, Yuji swallows a cursed finger belonging to the legendary Ryomen Sukuna, becoming his vessel. Under the guidance of the powerful sorcerer Satoru Gojo, Yuji enters Tokyo Jujutsu High, setting off on a path of no return—fighting curses with a curse of his own.

With Modulo beginning serialization and a new novel on the way, plus the highly anticipated Culling Game arc debuting in early 2026, fans of Jujutsu Kaisen have plenty to look forward to in the coming years.
