Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump has closed one chapter while opening several new ones. The eighth issue of the magazine for 2026, released this week, published the final chapter of Otr of the Flame, the fantasy manga created by Yūki Kawaguchi. Alongside the conclusion, the publisher announced the arrival of multiple new series set to debut over the coming weeks.

Kawaguchi’s Otr of the Flame began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in May 2025. Set in a frozen world dominated by the Ice Kingdom, the story followed Otr, a kind-hearted boy tasked with keeping the last flames alive in a fortress while dreaming of becoming a warrior like his father. The manga blended classic hero’s journey elements with themes of fire and ice, gaining a modest but dedicated readership during its run.

Shueisha released the first collected volume of the series in September 2025, with the third volume scheduled to arrive on February 4. A fourth and final volume is planned for March and will include an additional epilogue chapter to close out the story. International readers could follow the series through simultaneous English releases on Viz Media and Shueisha’s MANGA Plus platform.

With Otr of the Flame ending, Weekly Shonen Jump is preparing to refresh its roster. In the magazine’s 10th issue, set for release on February 2, mangaka Kento Amemiya will debut a new series titled Kaigeki no Kinato (Kinato the Counterattack). Amemiya is known for Shadow Eliminators, which previously ran in the magazine from late 2023 until its conclusion in April 2024.

Another new title, Under Doctor by Kyō Tanimoto, will launch in the next issue on January 26. Shortly after, the 11th issue dated February 9 will introduce Alien Headbutt, a new manga by Akira Inui.
