The special is scheduled to premiere in Japan on December 31 at 10:00 p.m. JST, airing on Tokyo MX, BS11, and Tochigi TV. Additional broadcasts will follow in January on Gunma TV, MBS, RKB, and TeNY.

All major cast and staff members from the television anime are returning for the project. Mamoru Hatakeyama resumes directing duties at A-1 Pictures, while Yūko Yahiro returns as character designer, and Kei Haneoka once again composes the music.

The returning voice cast includes Aoi Koga as Kaguya Shinomiya, Makoto Furukawa as Miyuki Shirogane, Konomi Kohara as Chika Fujiwara, Ryōta Suzuki as Yū Ishigami, Miyu Tomita as Miko Iino, Yumiri Hanamori as Ai Hayasaka, and Yutaka Aoyama as the narrator.

Kaguya-sama: Love Is War is based on Aka Akasaka’s manga, which ran from 2015 to 2022 and concluded after entering its final arc in late 2021. The series has been adapted into three television anime seasons, an OVA, and a theatrical film, The First Kiss That Never Ends, released in December 2022.

The new television special continues the anime’s storyline, marking the franchise’s latest animated project since the conclusion of its third season and film adaptation.
