Embark Studios has confirmed a new update for Arc Raiders, arriving during the week of May 17, introducing several highly requested quality-of-life features to improve progression and inventory management.

The announcement was included alongside details about the game’s revised content schedule, which will now focus on two major seasonal updates each year. The first of these large expansions, titled Frozen Trail, is planned for release in October.

New Trader System for Endgame Players

One of the headline additions is a new trader character designed specifically for late-game players. According to Embark, the feature is intended to address a growing issue among experienced players who have accumulated large amounts of unused loot with limited incentives to spend or trade it.

The trader, unlocked at level 25, will belong to a nomadic surface-dwelling faction and will operate through a rotating weekly barter system. Players will be able to exchange rare and valuable items for exclusive rewards, cosmetics, and high-tier equipment.

Expanded Stash Space Finally Arrives

The update will also introduce the ability to purchase additional stash space, one of the most requested features since the game’s launch.

Inventory limitations have become a common frustration for players collecting gear and crafting materials during Expeditions, particularly in the late game where storage management becomes increasingly restrictive.

Blueprint Carryover Changes

Another major addition is the ability to carry over up to five items between Expeditions, including blueprints. The feature is expected to make Expeditions more rewarding by reducing the risk of permanently losing favorite gear or valuable crafting plans.

Embark has suggested that these carryover slots may need to be unlocked progressively, though the studio has not confirmed the exact system yet.

The developer described the upcoming patch as only one piece of a larger roadmap planned for later this year. In addition to major seasonal content like Frozen Trail, the studio intends to continue releasing smaller updates focused on balancing, bug fixes, and overall gameplay improvements.
