New Doraemon Movie Trailer Unveils sumika’s Theme Song

The team behind the 2026 Doraemon film, Eiga Doraemon: Shin Nobita no Kaitei Kiganjō (Doraemon the Movie: New Nobita and the Castle of the Undersea Devil), released a brand-new trailer on Sunday.

The video debuts the movie’s theme song, “Honto,” performed by the rock band sumika, and offers a fresh look at the upcoming adventure.

New Visual Revealed

Alongside the trailer, the staff also unveiled the film’s main promotional visual on November 21.

Cast Additions

Two new voice cast members have been confirmed:

  • Shōya Chiba as El, a soldier of the Mu Federation who keeps watch over Nobita and his friends when they reach the ocean floor
  • Ryō Hirohashi as the Mizunaka Buggy (Underwater Buggy), an amphibious vehicle and one of Doraemon’s iconic gadgets

Release Details

The film is set to premiere in Japan on February 27, 2026.

This marks the 45th 2D Doraemon film (excluding the Stand By Me Doraemon 3D CG movies) and serves as a remake of the classic 1983 movie Nobita and the Castle of the Undersea Devil.

Staff Information

The movie is directed by Tetsuo Yajima, known for his work on multiple Pokémon films, including Secrets of the Jungle and Pokémon XY, as well as his long history with the Doraemon franchise.
The screenplay is written by Isao Murayama, another veteran of the Doraemon TV series who has also worked on titles such as Witchy Precure! and Star Twinkle Precure.

The previous film, Eiga Doraemon: Nobita no Esekai Monogatari (Doraemon: Nobita’s Art World Tales), the 44th entry in the long-running series, opened in Japan on March 7.
