Netflix is celebrating its 10th anniversary in Japan with a major event in Shibuya, and anime fans are the biggest winners. During the festivities, the streaming giant confirmed that a brand-new BAKI-DOU anime will arrive exclusively on Netflix in 2026, while the long-awaited BEASTARS Final Season Part 2 received its first preview images, teasing an emotional climax set to premiere next year.
BAKI-DOU: The Return of Miyamoto Musashi

Following his earth-shaking battle with his father, Yujiro Hanma, Baki Hanma now faces an even greater test: the revival of Japan’s legendary swordsman, Miyamoto Musashi. Iconic fighters like Doppo Orochi, Jack Hanma, and Kaoru Hanayama will return as the underground martial arts world braces for an unprecedented clash—Baki vs. the greatest samurai in history.
A newly released teaser trailer and key visual showcase the next evolution of the Baki franchise, which has already surpassed 100 million manga copies in circulation and continues to grow its global fanbase.
BEASTARS Final Season Part 2: First Look at the Climax
Netflix also unveiled stills from the second half of BEASTARS Final Season, which will conclude the acclaimed series in 2026. The images highlight Legoshi, Haru, Louis, Juno, Pina, and the menacing half-leopard antagonist Melon, all facing the weight of destiny as the story reaches its conclusion.
Director Shinichi Matsumi, who has helmed the series since season one, described the finale as the ultimate test of friendship, love, and pride:
“As fangs and horns clash, everything will be put to the test in this intense climax. The finale is not only their story, but also a question for the world we live in. Please watch until the very end.”
Since its Japan launch in 2015, Netflix has become a hub for Japanese entertainment, with anime ranking as the platform’s second most-watched category globally after English-language shows. This anniversary event, running until September 14, 2025, featured a special talk show uniting Baki creator Keisuke Itagaki and BEASTARS creator Paru Itagaki in a rare collaboration, marking a symbolic moment for both franchises.
With BAKI-DOU set to expand the martial arts saga and BEASTARS preparing to close its story in dramatic fashion, Netflix is signaling that its investment in anime is only getting stronger as it heads into its next decade.
