Marvel Animation has officially unveiled the full release schedule for the highly anticipated second season of X-Men ’97, confirming a three-episode premiere on July 1, 2026, followed by weekly episode releases through mid-August.
The new season picks up after the dramatic events of the first installment, which left several prominent mutants dead, including Gambit and Banshee. Despite those losses, Season 2 is set to expand the franchise’s roster with the arrival of several well-known Marvel characters, including Polaris, Quentin Quire, Chamber, Penance, Siryn, Exodus, Archangel, and Psylocke.
Three Episodes to Launch the New Season
Unlike a traditional weekly rollout, Marvel will debut the first three episodes simultaneously on July 1, giving fans an extended opening chapter before switching to a weekly release schedule.
The second season consists of nine episodes, with the finale scheduled to premiere on August 12, 2026.

Following the premiere, new episodes will arrive every Wednesday until the season concludes.
Disney+ has not officially announced the streaming time for the new episodes. However, the first season of X-Men ’97 debuted at 3:00 a.m. Eastern Time (ET) and 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time (PT), a schedule commonly followed by Disney+ originals.
Unless the company announces a different rollout plan, Season 2 is expected to follow the same release window.
Nine-Episode Season Continues the Story
