Crunchyroll Showcases Major Anime Updates at Anime NYC 2025

At Anime NYC 2025 on August 23, Crunchyroll hosted its annual Showcase panel, unveiling updates on highly anticipated returning series along with several new acquisitions.

The event opened with a first look at Fire Force Season 3 Part 2, revealed through a teaser visual. Produced by David Production, the series finale will begin streaming exclusively on Crunchyroll in January 2026.

Crunchyroll also premiered the main trailer and key visual for Let’s Play, the anime adaptation of Leeanne Krecic’s popular webcomic, which has amassed more than 700 million views across platforms. Animated by OLM (Pokémon, The Apothecary Diaries), the romantic comedy debuts on October 1, 2025. Musician Toshinobu Kubota will perform both the opening theme “1, 2, Play” and the ending theme “Left & Right.”

New Acquisitions Announced

Several Japanese titles were confirmed for Crunchyroll’s catalog, most launching in October 2025:

  • Pass the Monster Meat, Milady! (Asahi Production)
    A fantasy comedy about Lady Melphiera, a noblewoman with a peculiar appetite for monsters, and her encounter with the feared “Blood-Mad Duke.” Directed by Mutsumi Takeda, with series composition by Keiichiro Ochi.Pass the Monster Meat, Milady!
  • SI-VIS: The Sound of Heroes
    An original project by Saekano creator Fumiaki Maruto, following a co-ed music group whose live shows secretly double as battles against hidden threats.

  • The Banished Court Magician Aims to Become the Strongest (Gekkou)
    Based on Alto’s novels, the story follows Alec Ygret, an exiled support magician returning to dungeon exploration with an old comrade. Directed by Ken Takahashi, with scripts by Kazuyuki Fudeyasu.

  • A Gatherer’s Adventure in Isekai (Tatsunoko Production & SynergySP)
    Centered on Takeru, a salaryman reborn in the fantasy world of Madeus with rare gathering skills. Directed by Yoshinori Odaka, with series composition by Gigaemon Ichikawa.

  • There Was a Cute Girl in the Hero’s Party, so I Tried Confessing to Her (Gekkou)
    Planned for 2026, this adaptation follows Yoki, a reincarnated demon who falls for the hero’s priestess. Yasutaka Yamamoto serves as chief director, with scripts by Yukie Sugawara.

All titles will stream worldwide on Crunchyroll, with some regional exceptions.

To Your Eternity Updates

Ahead of the Showcase, To Your Eternity held a dedicated panel on August 22, featuring voice actors Reiji Kawashima and Kenjiro Tsuda. A new documentary, The Roots of To Your Eternity, premieres on August 29, 2025, exclusively on Crunchyroll. The film will include behind-the-scenes insights, creator interviews, and narration by Tsuda.

It was also confirmed that Perfume will perform the opening theme for To Your Eternity Season 3, which begins airing this October.
