It’s official — Black Clover is coming back! During Anime Expo 2025, fans were treated to a huge announcement: a sequel TV anime (Season 2) is in the works, complete with a brand-new visual and trailer. Studio Pierrot is returning to handle the animation once again.
For international viewers, the season numbering might be a bit confusing. While overseas platforms break the original run into four seasons, in Japan, all 170 episodes were aired as a single continuous season from 2017 to 2021.
The announcement was made during Crunchyroll’s industry panel at the event, where a new key visual featuring Asta on a red background and the teaser trailer were revealed. A Japanese version of the visual dropped shortly after the panel.
