Production Staff and Release
The film is directed by Masaki Kitamura (After-School Hanako-kun, Gundam Evolve) at Lerche, the same studio behind the original anime. Makoto Uezu returns as the scriptwriter, and Aya Higami—who worked on After-School Hanako-kun—is handling character designs.
The movie is set to premiere in Japan on March 20, 2026, with Avex Film Labels distributing.
About the Film
This new project features a complete collection of story episodes that never made it into the original anime adaptations due to time limitations. Creator Yūsei Matsui stated that the film is more than a 10th-anniversary project—it also continues the main storyline.
Series Background
Assassination Classroom originally ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2012 to 2016. The manga inspired two TV anime seasons: a 22-episode run in 2015 and a 25-episode second season in 2016. A theatrical anime film followed in November 2016.
Toonami began airing season one in August 2020 and later added season two in 2022.
The franchise also includes two live-action films, released in Japan in March 2015 and March 2016.
