Netflix is preparing another major K-drama addition to its slate. Long Vacation, an upcoming romantic series directed by Lee Jeong Hyo (Crash Landing on You), is set to begin filming in 2026.
While details remain limited, the project is already drawing attention, with Choo Young Woo (Mercy for None) and Lee Se Young (The Crowned Clown) reportedly in talks for the leading roles.
What Is Long Vacation About?
Written by Jung Hyun Jung (Five Enough), Long Vacation tells a touching and imaginative love story. According to early reports shared by industry insider @ggonigone on X, the plot follows Devil No. 3375, who travels to a tranquil seaside village in southern Korea for a “reward vacation.”
There, he meets Lee Deul Pan, a human woman whose warmth and kindness awaken new emotions within him. As he falls in love, he confronts his dark past and embarks on a journey of self-discovery and healing.
Cast and Characters
No official casting confirmations have been made yet, but two acclaimed actors are currently being courted for the lead roles.
- Choo Young Woo has been offered the male lead. Known for his standout performances in Mercy for None and The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call, the actor’s agency has confirmed they are reviewing the offer.
- Lee Se Young is being considered for the female lead. Best known for her roles in The Crowned Clown, The Red Sleeve, and What Comes After Love, the actress is reportedly preparing for a new Netflix project, which could very well be Long Vacation.
Production Details
While Netflix has not yet confirmed the start date, reports from Naver suggest that filming will commence in the first half of 2026. The production is expected to run through mid-to-late 2026 before entering post-production.
The series will consist of 16 episodes, each approximately 60 minutes long.
When will Long Vacation Be Released on Netflix?
Given that filming is not expected to begin until 2026, fans will have to wait a while before seeing Long Vacation on screen. Based on Netflix’s typical production timeline for K-dramas, the most likely release window is mid-to-late 2027, with a summer 2027 premiere being the earliest possible date.
