Grand Theft Auto VI Might Be Delayed Again, Says Leaker

The long wait for Grand Theft Auto VI could be getting even longer.

Although Rockstar Games had already announced a delay earlier this year, pushing the release to May 26, 2026, a known GTA insider now suggests that date might slip again.

It’s been over a decade since Grand Theft Auto V launched, and while fans were hoping to finally get their hands on the next chapter by next year, the timeline may not be as certain as we thought.

The new claim comes from GameRoll, a well-known figure in the GTA leak community. He previously made headlines for correctly identifying the last names of the game’s main characters, Jason and Lucia, before they were officially revealed.

Now, GameRoll has shared in a Discord post (via Dexerto) that development may be hitting some snags, particularly with the later parts of the game’s story. According to him, the final chapter has been stuck in what’s being described as “development hell,” leading to large sections being cut and reworked.

Grand Theft Auto VI Might Be Delayed Again

He also noted that GTA VI is expected to have five story chapters, but so far, only content from the first half has been shown in trailers. If the second half is still unfinished, that could explain why it hasn’t been previewed, and may be a sign that the game isn’t as close to completion as fans hoped.

As always with rumors, it’s worth treating this with caution. GameRoll himself has said his information comes from a friend connected to someone inside Rockstar, so nothing is confirmed. Still, if the report holds true, the game might not land until late 2026 or even 2027.

Fingers crossed that this isn’t the case, but for now, it might be wise to manage expectations.
