Japanese music duo GARNiDELiA has announced that they will be going on an indefinite hiatus starting September 2, 2025. The news was shared on the group’s official website earlier today.

The pair had been scheduled to embark on their “stellacage tour 2025 [PROGRESS]” in Taiwan and Japan from October through December, but all performances have been canceled following the decision. Information on ticket refunds and other details will be provided at a later time.

In a heartfelt message, the members expressed their gratitude to fans:

“The music we’ve made with MARiA is a treasure in our lives, and the time we’ve spent with you all has been a source of comfort to us more than anything else. We’d like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has shown us their warm support over the years.”

A Look Back at GARNiDELiA’s Journey

Formed in September 2010, the unit consists of vocalist MARiA (Mai Mizuhashi) and composer toku (Yoshinori Abe). They made their major label debut in March 2014 under Sony Music’s DefSTAR Records with “ambiguous”, the second opening theme for the anime Kill la Kill.

Over the years, GARNiDELiA became a staple in the anisong scene, performing theme songs for series such as The Irregular at Magic High School, Gundam Reconguista in G, Fate/Apocrypha, BEATLESS, Taisho Otome Fairy Tale, and many more, as well as contributing music to video games. Their discography includes ten singles and six original albums.

The announcement marks the end of an active chapter for the duo, though whether they will return in the future remains uncertain.
