Fans of teen drama have reason to celebrate: Dawson’s Creek will be streaming again in the United States starting October 3, 2025.

The cult classic, which originally aired on The WB from 1998 to 2003, was created by Kevin Williamson and starred James Van Der Beek, Katie Holmes, Michelle Williams, Joshua Jackson, Kerr Smith, Meredith Monroe, Busy Philipps, and Mary Beth Peil. Known as a “nighttime soap,” the series follows a tight-knit group of teens while candidly exploring the challenges of adolescence—particularly love, relationships, and, yes, s..cc.

Netflix confirmed the last-minute addition on X (formerly Twitter), announcing that “The Complete Series”, all six seasons and 128 episodes, will be available from October 3rd. It’s currently unclear whether the return applies to international Netflix libraries. In the U.S., the show is also available on Hulu.

Dawson’s Creek last streamed on Netflix during the pandemic. The service acquired the series on November 1, 2020, and it remained available for 18 months, concluding on May 1, 2022. During that run, it was featured in the daily top 10 in 20 countries, with strong performance in South Africa, Italy, Ireland, and New Zealand, though surprisingly not in the U.S.

Timing and Recent Buzz

The timing of this return coincides with renewed attention on the series. Last month, the cast reunited in New York City for a small gathering. Additionally, Netflix collaborated with Dawson’s Creek creator Kevin Williamson on a new series, The Waterfront, which launched in June 2025. Despite solid reviews and viewership, the show was cancelled in August 2025.

Other October 2025 streaming highlights on Netflix include Poldark (BBC period drama), Dark Wind season 3, Halo, The Way Home, and several other licensed AMC series. For the complete list of upcoming releases, What’s on Netflix will continue updating viewers throughout the month.
