Following the successful Battlefield 6 open beta earlier this month, DICE has shared more details about the game’s expanded Battlefield Portal—and one long-requested feature is finally confirmed.

In EA’s latest update, the studio revealed that players will be able to host persistent servers through Portal. These servers will remain visible in the in-game browser, making it easier for communities to find and return to their favorite custom experiences. Best of all, this feature comes included with the base game, essentially giving players free access to a rent-a-server system.

DICE also noted that players will have extensive filtering options to tailor the types of matches they want to see. Additionally, select Portal experiences will be highlighted directly on the Battlefield 6 home screen, giving standout playlists even more visibility.

While the news around Battlefield 6 has been overwhelmingly positive so far, EA did confirm today that one planned graphical enhancement will not be making it into the final release. Even so, momentum around the game continues to build, with the beta already being hailed as a major success for the publisher.

Battlefield 6 launches October 10 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
