At the Aniplex Online Fest 2025, a brand-new original anime titled Inherit the Winds was officially revealed. Alongside the announcement, fans were treated to a teaser visual and trailer featuring the main characters Jinsuke Tachikawa and Soji Okita.
While the voice cast and premiere date remain under wraps, the reveal has already sparked anticipation among anime enthusiasts.

Team Behind Inherit the Winds
The series is penned by Yutaka Narui, who serves as the original creator and scriptwriter. Animation is being handled jointly by Live2D Creative Studio (Tono to Inu) and Drive (KonoSuba Season 3, Tying the Knot With an Amagami Sister). Directing the project is Tomohiro Kawamura, best known for Miru: Paths To My Future.
Other key staff includes Fumi Ebina as the character designer and Shigeru Kishida, recognized for composing the Real Girl opening theme, as the music composer.
Story
Inherit the Winds takes viewers back to Kyoto in June 1863, where a young man named Jinsuke Tachikawa awakens with no memory of his past. Taken in by the Mibu Roshigumi headquarters, he is welcomed by assistant captain Soji Okita and given a new identity. From there, Jinsuke begins a new life as part of the corps, setting the stage for a dramatic tale of identity, loyalty, and destiny.
