If you haven’t grabbed a Nintendo Switch 2 yet, you might soon get the chance to pick one up at a lower price—though for now, the deal seems limited to France.
According to Dealabs, retailer E.Leclerc will begin offering discounted Switch 2 bundles starting 14 October. Both the Mario Kart World and Pokémon Legends: Z-A bundles are expected to drop from €499 to €469—a modest but welcome €30 saving (roughly 6%).
That discount could easily cover an extra accessory or even go toward another game. It’s worth noting, however, that Pokémon Legends: Z-A doesn’t release until 16 October, so grabbing that bundle early will mean securing it as a pre-order.
Why the Price Drop?

The move reportedly makes E.Leclerc Switch 2’s loss leader—a strategy where a retailer sells a product below cost to drive customer traffic and boost sales in other areas. Importantly, this appears to be a retailer-specific decision, so don’t expect Nintendo or other stores worldwide to follow suit right away.
That said, shoppers in other regions have noticed slight reductions too. One Reddit user mentioned a recent $80 price drop in Norway, while others highlighted that French retailers such as Leclerc, Carrefour, and Auchan frequently undercut bigger platforms like Amazon on games and consoles.
While Amazon often wins on convenience, French gamers point out that its pricing and delivery times are no longer as competitive. In contrast, local retailers are increasingly becoming the go-to option for deals.
So if you’re on the hunt for a Switch 2 bundle this holiday season, it’s worth keeping an eye on regional retailers—you might find better prices than expected.
