Netflix’s hit Spanish hospital drama Breathless (Respira in Spain) is finally making its comeback. The streamer has released new first-look images and the official trailer ahead of its Season 2 premiere on October 31, 2025.
Created by Carlos Montero (Élite, The Mess You Leave Behind), the series returns more than a year after its debut season, which premiered on August 30, 2024. The renewal was officially confirmed last December, and now fans are about to return to the tense halls of the Joaquín Sorolla Hospital.
New Era at the Joaquín Sorolla Hospital

In Season 2, the hospital has fully transitioned into a private institution, forcing its doctors to confront new ethical dilemmas and power struggles.
At the centre of the story, Patricia (played by Najwa Nimri) continues her fight against cancer while deepening her complicated relationship with Néstor (Borja Luna). Meanwhile, Jésica (Blanca Suárez) works to rebuild her confidence as she navigates her tangled emotions for both Lluís (Alfonso Bassave) and Biel (Manu Ríos).
Elsewhere, Pilar (Aitana Sánchez-Gijón) faces turmoil as her son’s addiction worsens but unexpectedly finds common ground with Quique (Xóan Fórneas). Their uneasy alliance is tested when the hospital’s new management forces them to make difficult moral choices. The arrival of Sophie (Rachel Lascar), a celebrated oncologist, brings even more tension to the team, stirring rivalries and new alliances.
