Unreal Engine 5 continues to be a double-edged sword for developers, with performance problems cropping up in several recent releases. Following titles like Mafia: The Old Country and Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has also stumbled out of the gate with technical issues.

The good news for fans is that the situation isn’t nearly as dire as it could be. Despite reports of stuttering and other performance hiccups, the remake has already earned a “Very Positive” rating on Steam. Konami also moved quickly to calm concerns, rolling out Patch 1.1.2 just two days after release to tackle some of the most pressing problems.

Patch 1.1.2 Notes

The update focuses on stability and bug fixes, including:

  • Fixed crashes caused by performing consecutive survival knife attacks to secure food.
  • Fixed crashes when removing the Crocodile Cap from the Survival Viewer while equipped.
  • Addressed crashes when collecting food near a hungry crocodile.
  • Corrected an issue where transitioning from a roll into a crawl caused Snake to float mid-air.
  • Fixed restricted movement in areas using Intrusion View under certain conditions.
  • Resolved crashes occurring in the Radio Window.

What makes this patch stand out is Konami’s swift action. Not only did they acknowledge issues before release, but they also pushed out a fix within 48 hours — a rarity in modern AAA launches.

That said, this first update mainly targets crashes and bugs, leaving broader performance problems untouched for now. Still, with Konami promising more fixes already in the works, Metal Gear Solid Delta could be running much smoother in the near future.
