Series Background

Magical Girl Raising Project, originally a light novel series by Asari Endo with illustrations by Maruino, first hit the screen in 2016 with a 12-episode anime. The story centers on a popular social game that gives players a rare chance — one in ten thousand — to become a real magical girl. While it begins as a dream come true, things take a dark turn when the administrator fairy, Fav, decides to slash the number of magical girls in half. What starts as a gift of power quickly spirals into a deadly survival game.

The original anime is available for streaming on Crunchyroll, with Restart set to bring fans back into its high-stakes magical world when it premieres in 2026.
