Several Korean television dramas saw notable changes in viewership on January 18, with new series showing strong upward momentum and established shows continuing to dominate the weekend ratings race.

According to data released by Nielsen Korea, tvN’s newly launched drama “Undercover Miss Hong” recorded a significant jump in its second episode. The series achieved an average nationwide rating of 5.7 percent, rising by more than two full percentage points compared to its premiere the previous night. The sharp increase suggests growing viewer interest as the storyline begins to take shape.

Channel A’s romantic drama “Positively Yours” also posted encouraging growth. Its second episode earned an average nationwide rating of 1.9 percent, nearly doubling the 1.0 percent rating from its first broadcast. While the numbers remain modest, the increase indicates positive word-of-mouth and improving engagement among viewers.

Meanwhile, veteran weekend drama “Our Golden Days” on KBS 2TV continued its strong performance as it approaches its finale. With only two episodes remaining, the latest broadcast reached an average nationwide rating of 19.6 percent, the highest of the series so far. The show maintained its position as the most-watched program of the entire weekend, reinforcing its status as a ratings powerhouse.

Also on KBS 2TV, “To My Beloved Thief” demonstrated stability rather than growth. The drama held steady with an average nationwide rating of 7.0 percent for its sixth episode, maintaining its core audience without significant fluctuation.

As the broadcast week progresses, attention will be on whether the newer dramas can sustain their upward trends and whether long-running hits like Our Golden Days will close out their runs with even stronger numbers.
