The Jump ’26 event on Saturday brought major news for fans of Kaiju No. 8, with organizers announcing that the anime adaptation will continue with a dedicated “conclusion arc.” Alongside this final storyline, the franchise will also receive a new anime short titled Narumi no Heijitsu (“Narumi’s Weekday”).

The announcement signals that the television adaptation is moving toward its final phase, following the manga’s conclusion earlier this year. Details regarding the format, episode count, or release window for the conclusion arc have not yet been disclosed.
The Kaiju No. 8 anime first premiered on TV Tokyo in April 2024 and ran for 12 episodes. The series drew attention for its unconventional global distribution strategy, streaming simultaneously worldwide as it aired in Japan. Crunchyroll provided international streaming with English subtitles and an English dub, while the episodes were also broadcast in real time on X.
Following the success of the first season, Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment brought a compilation film, Kaiju No. 8: Mission Recon, to theaters in the United States and Canada in April. The limited screenings were offered in both subtitled and dubbed formats.
The anime’s second season debuted on July 19 on TV Tokyo and affiliated channels, continuing the franchise’s real-time global streaming approach on X, with Crunchyroll handling international distribution. The newly announced conclusion arc will serve as the narrative endpoint for the anime adaptation.
The series is based on the manga by Naoya Matsumoto, which launched in July 2020 on Shonen Jump+. The story follows a man whose life takes an unexpected turn when he gains the ability to transform into a monster, pushing him back toward the childhood dream he had long abandoned. The manga concluded on July 18.
In English, the manga is published digitally and in print by Viz Media, while Shueisha also distributes it digitally through MANGA Plus under the title Monster #8.
Beyond anime and manga, the franchise has expanded into gaming. Kaiju No. 8 the Game launched on PC via Steam on October 1, following its earlier release on iOS and Android platforms at the end of August.
With the conclusion arc now confirmed and a new anime short on the way, Kaiju No. 8 is set to enter its final chapter as a multimedia franchise, bringing its story to a close across anime, manga, and games.
