Netflix is continuing to expand its lineup of studio films with the upcoming arrival of Honey Don’t!, the latest feature directed by Ethan Coen. The dark comedy will begin streaming in the United States on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, marking another title to move to Netflix under Universal Pictures’ revised Pay-1 licensing arrangement.
Honey Don’t! originally premiered in theatres in August 2025 before transitioning to Peacock for its initial streaming run. Its move to Netflix follows a new output agreement that shifts select Universal live-action films to the platform after their Peacock exclusivity ends.
Under this updated structure, Netflix has replaced Prime Video as the secondary streaming home for these releases beginning in 2026. The film is expected to remain available on Netflix U.S. until December 3, 2026.
The movie represents Coen’s second solo directorial project to land on Netflix, following Drive-Away Dolls. Written by Coen alongside longtime collaborator and wife Tricia Cooke, Honey Don’t! is described as a darkly comic neo-noir set against the arid backdrop of Bakersfield, California.

The story centers on Honey O’Donahue, a struggling private investigator whose latest case pulls her into a tangled web of corruption and violence. What begins as an inquiry into the death of a young woman soon escalates into a confrontation with a shadowy religious group, a manipulative preacher, and a disillusioned local police officer.
As the investigation deepens, Honey finds herself navigating an increasingly dangerous underworld where trust is scarce and motives are murky.
The film features a notable ensemble cast led by Margaret Qualley in the title role. Aubrey Plaza co-stars as a police officer who becomes closely involved in Honey’s investigation, while Chris Evans takes on a rare villainous turn as a charismatic cult leader. Supporting roles are played by Charlie Day and Billy Eichner.
Upon release, Honey Don’t! received a divided response from critics and audiences. Reviews praised the performances and offbeat tone but criticised the film’s uneven execution. The movie currently holds a 45 per cent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, reflecting its mixed reception.
With its Netflix debut now confirmed, Honey Don’t! is poised to reach a wider audience early next year, offering viewers another unconventional entry in Ethan Coen’s growing body of solo work.
