EA has officially unveiled REDSEC, a brand-new free-to-play battle royale experience launching alongside Battlefield 6 Season 1.

The announcement follows the game’s explosive debut, which has already shattered player records on Steam just two weeks after release. EA and Battlefield Studios are capitalising on this momentum with REDSEC, a standalone mode that will expand Battlefield 6’s universe in the same way Call of Duty: Warzone evolved from its parent series.

REDSEC Launch Details

REDSEC goes live on October 28, 2025, and will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Players can download the mode separately through the Battlefield 6 multiplayer hub.

Here’s when REDSEC unlocks around the world:

  • US: 11 a.m. EST / 8 a.m. PDT
  • UK: 4 p.m. BST
  • Central Europe: 5 p.m. CEST
  • UTC: 3 p.m.
  • India: 11:30 p.m. IST
  • Japan: 3 a.m. JST (October 29)
  • Australia: 5 a.m. AEDT (October 29)

What to Expect from REDSEC

REDSEC introduces an entirely new battle royale map built for large-scale chaos, complete with vehicles, tactical destruction, and a class-based system. Players will also be able to reboot fallen teammates, adding a layer of strategic depth.

One of REDSEC’s most distinctive features is its “ring of fire” system. Unlike traditional shrinking zones that simply deal damage over time, REDSEC’s circle is instantly lethal—anyone caught outside is eliminated on impact. This brutal mechanic is designed to keep the action fast-paced and unpredictable, forcing players into constant motion and intense late-game clashes.

By introducing REDSEC as a free, standalone battle royale, EA is positioning Battlefield 6 to compete directly with Warzone and Apex Legends. With its signature large-scale combat and destruction mechanics, REDSEC could deliver one of the most intense and unforgiving battle royale experiences yet.

Players can jump into REDSEC when Battlefield 6 Season 1 goes live on October 28, 2025.
