It’s August 4, which means early access players can now preload the Battlefield 6 open beta! EA provided a method for how to get the download started — but if you’re on PS5, you might’ve already noticed something’s off.

Many users have reported that the beta client isn’t showing up on the PlayStation Store, even if they followed EA’s instructions to the letter. If you’re running into the same issue, don’t worry — there’s a reliable workaround.

Download the Battlefield 6 Open Beta for PS5

EA’s Official Method (Sometimes Doesn’t Work)

EA says your beta access is tied to the EA Account you used to register for Battlefield Labs. To access the preload:

  1. Make sure your EA Account is linked to your PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, or EA App account.
➤ Check or manage it here: EA Connected Accounts
➤ Guide on linking: EA Account Linking Help
  2. Visit the store on your platform (PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, or EA App).
  3. Search for “Battlefield 6 Open Beta”.
  4. Once it appears, click download.

Problem? For many PS5 users, nothing shows up in search — but there’s a fix.

Method That Works (Web Browser Trick for PS5)

If you’re eligible for early access and the PS Store won’t cooperate, do this instead:

  1. Open a browser (mobile or desktop) and go to EA’s website.
  2. Sign in to the EA Account you used to register.
  3. Click the “Pre-load” button.
  4. Select your platform (PS5 in this case).
  5. Hit “Add to Library”.
  6. Go to your PS5’s Game Library, and you should now see the beta available to download.
    • Alternatively, use the “Download to Console” option if your PSN account is connected via the browser.

We tested this method, and it does work. Just make sure you have at least 34 GB free on your console — the beta client is roughly 33.9 GB.
