Every great shonen series has its infamous villain group—Naruto had the Akatsuki, Hunter x Hunter had the Phantom Troupe, and in Gachiakuta, the spotlight falls on the Raiders. This dangerous organization constantly clashes with the Cleaners, acting as one of the story’s biggest antagonistic forces.
If you’re curious about their purpose, history, and members, here’s everything you need to know about the Raiders in Gachiakuta.
Who Are the Raiders?
The Raiders are more than just a rival guild to the Cleaners—they’re a group made up entirely of Givers, individuals capable of creating Jinki. Unlike the Cleaners, whose role is to protect and maintain order in the Ground, the Raiders thrive on chaos, destruction, and fear.
Led by Zodyl Typhon, their ultimate mission is nothing short of apocalyptic: to gather every key instrument of the Watchman Series and use them to erase the Sphere Land from existence. Where the Cleaners stand for preservation, the Raiders symbolize annihilation.
Origins of the Raiders
The full history of the Raiders is still shrouded in mystery, but fragments of their past have surfaced. According to Gris, the group originally began as nothing more than bandits, scavenging from ground-dwellers to survive. Over time, however, their crimes escalated, and under the leadership of Zodyl Typhon, they evolved into something far more menacing.
Zodyl’s rise marked a shift from petty theft to organized destruction, transforming the bandits into the Raiders—an embodiment of chaos in the underworld of Gachiakuta.
Members of the Raiders
The Raiders may not have the massive numbers of other villainous groups, but what they lack in size, they make up for in sheer power and loyalty. At their peak, the group consisted of eight members, though recent events have drastically reduced their ranks.
Front Line Members (report directly to Zodyl Typhon):
Jabber Wonger
Jabber Wonger is a tall, slender man with long braided hair decorated with yellow rings and striking pink eyes. His appearance alone is memorable, but it’s his twisted personality that makes him one of the most dangerous members of the Raiders.
Jabber thrives on chaos—he lives for the thrill of combat and is constantly searching for strong opponents to test his strength against. What makes Jabber even more unsettling is his reaction to pain. Even when he’s beaten down, he grins wildly, almost feeding off the punishment. To him, suffering in battle isn’t a setback—it’s pure ecstasy.
As one of the most formidable figures in Gachiakuta, Jabber wields a Vital Instrument called Mankira. This unique weapon is a set of ten rings, one for each finger, and is powerful enough to have two distinct stages, setting him apart from most other characters in the series.
Bundus Begalkeit
At first glance, Bundus Begalkeit may appear to be an old man, but beneath his weathered exterior lies the physique of a tall, muscular middle-aged fighter. His olive-green eyes, wrinkled skin, and full moustache and beard give him a rugged, seasoned look. Bundus dresses in a distinctive style—wearing a wide-brimmed hat, oversized trousers, and a long coat.
Unlike some of his fellow Raiders, Bundus carries himself with calmness and restraint. He doesn’t lose focus in battle and often holds conversations with his opponents mid-fight, showing a measured and thoughtful personality.
Bundus wields one of the most versatile Vital Instruments in the series: Hands, a prosthetic system of six mechanical arms, each with its own specialized ability:
- Hand No. 1 – Allows him to extend and reach anything within his line of sight.
- Hand No. 2 – Equipped with sharp claws for cutting and slashing.
- Hand No. 3 – Functions as a long-range offensive weapon.
- Hand No. 4 – Similar in ability to Hand No. 1, extending his reach further.
- Hand No. 5 – Strikes with unpredictable, erratic movements, making it extremely difficult for enemies to defend against.
- Hand No. 6 – Can expand in size, turning into an almost indestructible shield against attacks.
This combination of offensive, defensive, and utility powers makes Bundus an exceptionally balanced and adaptive fighter. While he may not have the unhinged ferocity of Jabber Wonger, Bundus’s calm intelligence and multi-functional Vital Instrument make him a formidable threat on the battlefield.
Momoa Rukei
Momoa Rukei stands out among the Raiders’ Front Line—not for overwhelming combat strength, but for the unique role she plays within the organization. She is a petite, slim young woman with long wavy green hair, striking teal eyes, and distinctive red rings that highlight her appearance.
Momoa is deeply attached to music, often seen wearing her headphones and losing herself in melodies. Her obsession runs so deep that even after her headphones stopped functioning, she refused to take them off. Eventually, they transformed into her Vital Instrument, Asyl.
Cthoni Andor
Cthoni Andor is a grounded and pragmatic fighter within the Raiders’ Front Line. Unlike the more flamboyant or erratic members of the group, she carries herself with calm restraint. She is quiet, stoic, and rarely shows emotion, which makes her presence easy to overlook—an advantage in her line of work.
Physically, Cthoni is short but muscular, with cropped blue hair, piercing yellow eyes, and tattoos marking her wrists and ankles. Her outfit—an unassuming crop top paired with oversized shorts—adds to her understated but practical look. Strapped to her back is her Vital Instrument, Manhole.
Manhole grants Cthoni the power of warping, allowing her and her allies to teleport across different locations. While she is not as combat-focused as some Raiders, her ability makes her invaluable for strategic movement, infiltration, and quick escapes.
Former Members:
- Noerde Hew Amozo – Killed during the Trash Storm arc.
- Fu Orostor – Defected and joined the Cleaners.
- Konza – Captured and executed by the Hell Guard.
- Unnamed member – Fought using Clay Dolls, but no longer active.
After the clashes in the Trash Storm arc, only four Raiders remain active under Zodyl’s leadership.
The Raiders aren’t just villains—they embody the darker themes of Gachiakuta: survival, corruption, and destruction. Their pursuit of the Watchman Series Jinki puts them at constant odds with the Cleaners, and their endgame of destroying the Sphere poses one of the greatest threats in the story so far.
Though Zodyl’s attempt to recruit Rudo may have failed, the Raiders remain relentless in their mission. With only a handful of members left, their future is uncertain—but their impact on the series is undeniable.
