Getting excited about a new game is one thing—actually getting to play it ahead of release is something else entirely. While some fans try the classic “New Zealand trick” to jump in early through digital launches, a few lucky players have already managed to secure physical copies of Lost Soul Aside before its official release date.
This is one of the perks of physical media: once you’ve got the disc, you can play on your own terms. But for everyone else still waiting, the developers have a request—don’t spoil it.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the team wrote:
It has been brought to our attention that some people may have gotten their hands on physical copies of Lost Soul Aside. Please do not spoil the game online, out of respect for each other!”
Fans had mixed reactions. Some joked about “spoilers” like “the bad guy loses”, while others vowed to step away from social media until release to avoid having the story ruined. Many long-time supporters—some waiting nearly a decade for this game—echoed the developers’ call for spoiler-free excitement.
That said, early reports suggest the game may launch with graphical and performance hiccups, though the studio has confirmed a day-one patch will address many of these issues. Exactly how much it improves things remains to be seen.
Lost Soul Aside officially launches on PC and PS5 on August 29, 2025.
