NIS America has confirmed that two entries in Nippon Ichi Software’s atmospheric Yomawari horror series will arrive on PlayStation 5 in Western markets on November 5.
The lineup includes Yomawari: The Long Night Collection, a bundle featuring the first two games in the series, and Yomawari: Lost in the Dark, the latest standalone entry.
Yomawari: The Long Night Collection Comes to PS5
The Long Night Collection combines Yomawari: Night Alone and Yomawari: Midnight Shadows. The package was previously released for Nintendo Switch in North America and Europe in October 2018.
The collection brings together the two earlier Yomawari adventures, both of which center on vulnerable characters navigating dark environments while avoiding supernatural threats.
The original Yomawari: Night Alone follows a young girl who ventures out at night with only a flashlight as she searches for her missing sister and her dog. Yomawari: Midnight Shadows expands on the formula with two new girls whose stories become connected as they search for one another.
Lost in the Dark Heads to PS5 in the West
Yomawari: Lost in the Dark originally launched for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC through Steam in North America in October 2022. Its Switch and PS4 releases followed in Japan in April 2023.
The game eventually made its way to PS5 in Japan on May 14, 2026. The upcoming November 5 release will now bring the PS5 version to Western audiences.
Like the earlier games, Lost in the Dark focuses on exploration, isolation, and supernatural horror rather than conventional action. Its story follows another group of young characters as they attempt to find their way through a dangerous nighttime world.
The Yomawari Series Has Been Around for More Than a Decade
Nippon Ichi Software originally developed Yomawari: Night Alone for the PlayStation Vita. The game debuted in Japan in October 2015 before NIS America brought physical and digital editions to North America and Europe in October 2016. A PC version was also released worldwide that same month.
The sequel, Yomawari: Midnight Shadows, launched in Japan for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in August 2017. NIS America subsequently released it for PS4, PS Vita, and PC through Steam in North America and Europe in October 2017.
With The Long Night Collection and Lost in the Dark both arriving on PS5 in the West, PlayStation players will have access to a broader selection of the series on Sony’s current-generation console starting November 5.
