Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 has kicked off Gamescom in Germany with a packed showcase of upcoming games, updates, release dates, and new trailers.
While the event featured announcements across the gaming industry, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and mobile players had plenty to look forward to. From new HoYoverse projects and mobile RPGs to classic franchises returning on Switch 2, the showcase covered a surprisingly broad range of games.

Nodus Fall
HoYoverse revealed Nodus Fall, a new game that appears to take the company in a very different direction.
The trailer showed a dark fantasy world filled with dragons, monsters, mysterious environments, and large-scale exploration. Its atmosphere is noticeably different from HoYoverse’s better-known games, giving it a darker action RPG feel.
Platforms and a release date have not yet been confirmed.
Ananta
After a long wait, Ananta finally has a release date.
The open-world action RPG launches on January 15, 2027, for mobile, PC, and PlayStation 5.
Players can explore a large urban environment using vehicles, skating, flying, and different combat styles. The game also puts a strong emphasis on its characters and social systems, with players taking on the role of Yeet Master.
Sea of Remnants
The pirate-themed RPG Sea of Remnants is coming to mobile, PC, and consoles in 2027.
The game combines turn-based combat with exploration and a pirate setting. Players interested in trying it can also pre-register through the game’s official channels to receive future updates about its release.
Mega Man: Dual Override
Capcom showed more of Mega Man: Dual Override, including a closer look at the game’s characters and gameplay.
The showcase introduced Twinkle Girl, a new character joining the game. A Mega Man-themed skin is also coming to PRAGMATA.
Mega Man: Dual Override is confirmed for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
Rayman Legends Retold
Rayman Legends Retold received a new trailer during the showcase.
The game is scheduled to launch on October 1, 2026, for Nintendo Switch 2.
The trailer offered another look at the updated version of the classic platformer, including a memorable cover of Macarena.
1001 Threads of Mizan
1001 Threads of Mizan brings a fantasy adventure inspired by the classic One Thousand and One Nights stories.
The game features flying carpets, enormous monsters, and a colorful fantasy world.
It is confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2, although there is currently no announced release date. A playable demo is available at Gamescom.
Silver Palace
The upcoming gacha RPG Silver Palace received another trailer showing off its characters, gameplay, and fantasy world.
The game is coming to mobile, PC, and PlayStation.

Monster Hunter Outlanders
Monster Hunter Outlanders is bringing Capcom’s popular monster-hunting series to mobile.
The game is being developed by TiMi Studios under license from Capcom and is planned for iOS and Android.
Pre-registration is now available ahead of the game’s eventual launch.
The mobile title aims to bring familiar Monster Hunter mechanics, including large-scale creature battles and equipment progression, to phones and tablets.
Hitman World of Assassination
Agent 47 is getting a rather unusual new mission.
A free DLC featuring Snoop Dogg is scheduled to run from August 27 through September 26, 2026.
The content is available across the game’s supported platforms, including mobile, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Snoop Dogg’s appearance adds a very different flavor to the normally serious Hitman experience.
Petit Planet
HoYoverse also showed more of Petit Planet, a game that takes a much lighter approach than Nodus Fall.
The latest trailer focused on the game’s social features, character customization, outfits, and changing seasonal weather.
Petit Planet is scheduled to launch in winter 2026, putting its release window relatively close.
Mewgenics
If you’ve ever wanted a tactical roguelike RPG about breeding and battling cats, Mewgenics has you covered.
The game combines tactical combat, roguelike progression, and a cat-breeding system that lets players create unusual combinations of feline characters.

Alien: Fireteam Elite 2

The sequel continues the series’ focus on cooperative action against the terrifying creatures of the Alien universe.
Stage Tour
If you miss the days of rhythm games such as Guitar Hero, Stage Tour could be worth watching.
The game is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026 and will support dedicated musical hardware.

Roco Kingdom
Roco Kingdom is returning with a new open-world RPG featuring a colorful, animated visual style.
The game is planned for iOS, Android, PC, and PlayStation.

Final Fantasy VII Revelation
Square Enix showed another trailer for Final Fantasy VII Revelation during Gamescom Opening Night Live.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
